Amazing how these 2 self-absorbed people manage to stay married.

I was wrong; Joanie isn’t running out of steam anytime soon. She’s a self-winding watch.

She should be discussing this with a professional shrink.

Enough with the histrionics lady. There’s plenty of jobs for someone with your work experience.

Joanie sometimes represents everything I hate about professional women who get caught up in the tide of change and nothing is going their way. Post feminism takes hold and nothing any man can possibly say will be of any use, and when men try to help they are in their view being mysoginistic or a ‘mansplainer’. I wish women would accept they have an equal place with men and it matters not whether they have a p*nis – they are human with the same experiences and troubles.

It’s still a struggle for me occasionally, but I’ve learned to be a “listener” instead of a “fixer”. I love seeing the appreciation in my wife’s eyes! Mars v Venus, people!

people at work used to do this to me … my measured response usually consisted of “Get the hell out of my office”

Aw Rick, you should have said “yes” at the end of the second panel. Then you could make up the bed in the spare room and enjoy a week of silence.

If she isn’t interested in hearing advice, he has a right not to listen to her pointless whingeing.

Rick is a little slow to learn, just mumble something when she takes a breath.

Hard to feel any real sympathy, for an experienced lawyer, who once worked at DOJ.

I imagine that would look very nice on a resume.

Al Gore should’ve thrown out the results of the 2000 election and have a royal hissy fit like 45 did

Rick – that’s supposed to be a thought bubble.

And Joannie’s issues are she confuses political success with personal; she’s tied too much of her identity into not just her job but the politics around her job so when the country as a whole decides to shift one way or another, she feels it impact her identity and worth. Not a new thing and, sadly, more and more common – things that lead to “i can’t talk to people who don’t believe exactly what i do politically” from all sides.

But Joanie, you and your party were not “rejected”. As I recall, Al Gore won the popular vote. He probably also won Florida. It was a packed Supreme Court and an obsolete electoral college that put the shrub in the oval office.

Lacey Davenport (amusing name for those of us who used to sit on something called a davenport) was Republican. When did Joanie switch teams?
