At least Walden knows the difference between a President King and a King President.

Record shemcord, did the athletic department (separate corporation) turn a profit or not?If they did, then did the bitcoins post in the administration’s proper overseas accounts? What’s the problem here?

Clever, BD. And this is why I keep coming back despite the raging liberalism.

Never realized what a big honker BD has. Guess I was distracted by those ugly helmets he wore 24/7 in the early strips.

That’s quite a beautiful mansion. Must have been previously inhabited by a wealthy plantation owner and his family, with 1000 acres and 200 slaves.

Reminds me of UT (Austin) described as an oil company with a pretty good football team. But it was an accident. The legislature had no idea there was oil on the land they gave to the the university.

Interesting things happen when the football coach has a higher salary than the college’s president.

Talking about schools and money ….

The Harvard University endowment, valued at $49.444 billion as of June 30, 2022, is the largest academic endowment in the world. Its value increased by over 10 billion dollars in fiscal year 2021, ending the year with its largest sum in history. …..Copied from Wikileaks.

Am I the only one who sees something rotten here?

The same place the golf clubs went to after panel 2. One of those Trudeau-isms.

This might be similar to the meeting with Kraft and Belichick after today’s game.

King was already at least in his fifties when Doonesbury began 52 years ago. Yet here he still is, in that same job, and for that matter still alive, looking exactly the same.

One of the most ticklish aspects of Doonesbury is the way different characters age at different rates, and in some cases don’t age at all. Mike and the old Walden gang started out not aging, then started aging once they graduated, and by the ‘90s seemed to be at least a decade older than they should have been – almost like that lost decade somehow reasserted itself.

Except Zonker. He hasn’t really changed at all, even now.

(But then there’s Benjy (“Sal”), Mike’s younger brother, who went from being a little kid to a teenager, even while Mike was frozen in place.)

Alex, Sam and Jeff have all aged more or less straightforwardly.

By contrast, Duke was stated in passing to be 42 in 1979, forty-five years ago. So chronologically he’d be 87 now. Yet he looks and acts exactly the same as he always has.

And of course there’s King, who hasn’t changed a bit since 1970.
