I still have a land line for DSL. Admittedly, I’d installed a T1 at my previous home. That place had a princess line.

Sad story. Good device but MS convinced the company to commit suicide. Good device with a fair profit is no defense. Main legacy is multi-device sync?

I liked mine a lot. Functions you actually needed and used instead of pages of icons for useless dreck.

I remember the Palm Pilot. Got one and realized a little spiral notebook was easier to manage. Aw, never mind.

Not 10¢ on the dollar. Offer 10¢ each.

I’m looking at 4 Palm Pilots sitting on the shelf next to my computer desk, complete with plug-in keyboards, modem and GPS. Used it until the day I retired (2020). If one died, loaded up another and moved on. Bought them on Ebay for somewhat less than 10 cents on the dollar (original price). Worked great for what I needed.

I can’t even remember what a Palm Pilot is or was.

Do people still use Palm Pilots? Saw a new phone come out that reminds me of Palm Pilots, called Minimal.

I bet I could get way more for my leather and suede Day-Timer planner than I could with my Palm Pilot.

A long time ago I had some Minneapolis friends who were conducting a campaign against 3M, which was doing some nefarious things—either labour problems or projects for authoritarian regimes or environmental atrocities, or maybe all of these. Anyway, they bought some surplus old PCs from 3M and discovered that the drives hadn’t been wiped, and contained all sorts of incriminating material.
