Jim Andrews was an Oilman who wanted to tear everything up and put in oil-wells. Conservation laws were getting in the way though. He got confirmed as Deputy of Interior and managed to make a bunch of those pesky laws get repealed, neutralized. The ‘transformation’ and the strips representation of him was his schtick “trying to be one with & preserve nature”, while all he wanted to do was gut it for profit
Hunters and fishermen used to be considered conservationists. They were smart enough to know if you destroy the environment, there’d be no more critters to hang on your wall.
I always hear a discord when someone calls himself a conservative, when in fact they consider the notion of “conservation” anathema—like W and his pals in the “owl bidness”…

Is that a musket in his left hand, or an oar?

Just remember the real Jim Andrews was Trudeau’s Editor / Publisher. All will become clear : a businessman with "clear objectives " !

Besides being income tax day, the long anticipated trial starts today. Estimated to last for a grueling 6-8 weeks.
