Hose water does taste different than tap. That was the water we drank during the summer playing outside.

There was an old Dennis The Menace strip in which Dennis’s mom brings him water at bedtime, and he says, “That’s bathroom water. I wanted kitchen water.”

My wife and mother-in-law wanted me to do a Coke-Pepsi-RC taste test. First they set me up with all three being the same one. They didn’t fool me. I have a cultured palate.

Truth? It is all the same water. Some people have the outside water tap straight off the water inlet, before the water goes through the water conditioner, if you have one.

I cold actually do this pretty easily, because hose water tastes like, well, hose, and my bathroom tap water is softened while the kitchen tap isn’t.

These days a lotta people I know drink bottled water, even though American tap water is safe to drink.

that’s too simple a challenge. bathroom water is always the coldest, kitchen water is usually barely cool and hose water is warm.

I remember hose water as hot and nasty water but it was all we had and it was good on a hot day.
