Okay, me and Eno are on the same page here. I hate seeing the sun rise. It means I’m up way to early or way to late. …and yes I’ve seen thousands of them and didn’t like a one of ’em.
That’s me. Unlike many older people, after years of getting up before dawn to go to work, I go to bed late and get up late now that I’m retired. My wife is even worse. After retiring from working the night shift for decades, she sleeps into the afternoon.
I LOVE the early morning hours and love to start my running in the dark so I can enjoy the first hint of light and the progression towards dawn. And – at the right time of the month – beautiful orange moonsets if I can plan my route so as to catch them when possible!

If God had meant for humans to get up at the crack of dawn, he would have scheduled it for later in the day.

That’s pretty much the way I feel about sunrise, sunset, fireworks, Christmas lights, flowers. My wife likes all that stuff.

We need more erupting volcanoes and wildfires. They make for great sunrises and sunsets.

As I write this the sun is just rising above the eastern horizon and the almost full moon is still high in the west.

Should I get up, or shut-eye stay in bed?
