Kill the fish and be done with it.

Stop having kids.

Can’t blame the kids. Goldfish are really uninteresting.

Children are like that with ALL pets. One reason why giving a child a puppy for Christmas is NOT a good idea. It is great at first, but once the novelty wears off…the dog ends up in a shelter, unwanted, neglected and their spirit broken. Far too many die there, for reason that are not their fault. It is NOT fair.

That aquarium will be in the next garage sale

Put your foot down woman! Tell them if they don’t want another, funeral they will have to step up! They are old enough for responsibility.

I’m assuming the “annoyance” is mostly directed inward…

Experience tells me that, if she’s as good at taking care of the fish as she seems to be in nurturing her children, they (the fish) will be dead before we know it – (or, more likely, when the LeBans’ run out of ideas of how to milk this scenario…

Incidentally, “Remember the fish…” is always a good retort to the request for additional pets, so the fish weren’t a complete waste…

If anything, it makes it more annoying.

Give the kids sushi for lunch.

Tell the kids you’re not going to do, and let them deal with the consequences.
