I’m not sure if US Hanukkah has spread to Jewish communities in any other parts of the Diaspora. I know that for most of them it hasn’t. In the US Hanukkah had to compete with a very commercialized Christmas and gifts became mandatory. It’s importance also got magnified here also. Traditionally its significance was somewhere on the level of Groundhog Day.
Meanwhile, the hanukkiah seems to be missing a candle. Should be four on either side of the shamash.
