One ventilated Wolf coming up!

Jacob, really, really enjoyed that. Considering Lucas’s idiot attitude, and his role in the earlier lynching, no loss to the community.

Well played Jacob. Well played indeed.

And thus Lucas gets the martyrdom he sought.

The truth hurts. So do bullets.

Thought so. The confident “I know something you don’t know” expression on Jacob’s face in the second panel clued me in that Jacob had an ace up his sleeve (or rather a gun in his hand.) The surprised look on Lucas’s face is priceless.

The predator/prey attitude that Lucas expressed is possibly not isolated with just him; we’ll see as the story continues to unfold. Did Lucas act like a predator because he’d been transformed into a wolf shape? Or did he have predatory tendencies when he still looked human?

I’m thinking back to the Holly/Wally story arc when we were apparently witnessing Holly’s history and her friend Ethel turned into a snake. Ethel seemed puzzled why she could sense fear and why it made her feel hungry. Her snake shape had changed her perceptions/actions. (Though she didn’t live long enough to act on any impulse she might have had.) She wasn’t necessarily that way while still in human form.

The wielder of the pen is definitely mightier than the sword, especially when said wielder is well-armed.

What’s causing all the double posts? I notice it’s not on all strips but definitely on this one. Definite nuisance.

…and I maintain my record of bad guesses. LOL So it seems that Jacob goaded Lucas into attacking him. Jacob could claim self-defense. Or, he could say this revolutionary was executed like the others, after all, he wrote the manifesto. Now, what about Dottie?

Bye-bye Lucas. Your martyrdom has come, but no one will weep for you.

No fancy Ray-Gun. Just old fashioned lead.

Well, you gotta give Jake credit. When Flask dusted problems, she was never in any danger from her victims. Jake may have goaded Lucas into the attack, but he did actually act in self defense. Well played, sir.

Hope Dottie was still hugging the wall… Jake needs a witness, no an unintended consequence. ;-)

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Predator became prey…….ended up on the wrong end of the weapon.;-)

And Lucas proved what we all knew, He was just a predatory Thug. And that is how a lot of thugs die.

The “useful idiot” outlived his usefulness and got liquidated. Shame Lucas never got to realize how he was played by Jacob, but he was too dumb to pick up on that.

what was this guy’s deal anyway? I’m getting flashbacks to supreme ruler Snoke here…

Maybe Jacob needed an adrenaline rush.

Well, no-one’s going to miss him. Here’s just hoping that Dottie is alright, but who are we kidding? No-one’s ever really alright in Endtown.

It’ll be too bad if all of the wolf shit just ends up cementing Jackrabbit’s position as leader because people are convinced his heavy-handed tactics are what’s necessary, but given that there seems to be an underlying attempt to undermine his power that the wolves knew nothing about and had nothing to do with there’s still plenty of ways this could go.

Another thing I’m not sure I’ve pointed out is ‘where are the humans’? Early on in the strip there were still quite a few unmutated humans in Endtown, but since human-hating Jackrabbit took over I think the only one we’ve seen has been a vision/hallucination of Marx…

Perhaps in the final few seconds of his life, just before the trigger had been pulled, Lucas may have finally realized how foolish he had been…, but I doubt it.

Well, that was ill-considered. Yes, Jacob no longer has to worry about the competition as a news writer. But now, he’s got nobody to send back to the colony to tell the others to settle down. It may have been more effective to shoot Dottie and let Lucas go. No one’s going to listen to Dottie. On the other hand, she’s less likely to try to start up a new pro-wolf newspaper, too, now…

The lesson here: Don’t piss off Jacob. ;D

On the plus side, Jacob just avoided having to hold a trial to determine Lucas’ involvement in Heather’s death…

Does Jacob kill Dottie? Does he lock Dottie up to be forgotten? I have visions of Jacob pulling “back the curtain” and forming an alliance of sorts with Dottie to help rebuild Endtown. He lets her in on the masterplan so to speak. Dottie technically still owns the newspaper, she could be used for good. Or she could be dead shortly, only time will tell.
