Onward to the wormhole. She’s got a trip ahead of her.

Well, it wasn’t the tape recorder after all. ..

I sense a disturbance in the Force … I mean a weakness in the interdimensional membranes…

And getting swarmed by critters like those can’t be good.

Appears to be a lone, Topsider female with intact radio antenna, doing a hands-free climb to get her bearings, referring to a “Ravenscroft-style” map. The small arthropods have fish tails; is it possible this is under water?

I see. Panel 4 is a portal into the next dimension jump.

Somewhere in those jumbled dimensions Duffy’s kid brother is alive and well. Will he ever be reunited?

Interesting surroundings: mesas, plateaus or tepuis. Tepui means means house of the gods. They also looks like stone mushrooms. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Oh yeah, definitely seeing ‘the Quiet Earth’ parallels. Indy film from New Zealand with a really bizarre ending.

Thinking back to the “wailing ghost” or whatever the description was, I now see a story resemblance to “Little Girl Lost” on “Twilight Zone.” Another fine story by Richard Matheson.

But neither the little girl or her father had such an interesting device. Not a GPS but an IPS… Interdimensional Positioning System.

My question is whether she’s using that device to open and close portals with it, navigating between dimensions deliberately, or whether it’s a map and she has to go to wherever the portals are to the next place she’s traveling to.

Which leads to more questions, of course. Who is she, where is she going, where did she travel from, what is her mission (assuming she has one), and if that device exists are there others?

Oddly enough, this is beginning to remind me of Harry Potty.

There’s a greyish mark near the top of her device. Must be pointing the way to follow.

This would be great if we were seeing the return of Capt. Philomena Flask or “Blackie”. Loved that character.

Well, this rules out a mind control experiment, now that we’re seeing things through someone else’s eyes (someone who’s outside the story so far). Looks like some kind of real interdimensional travel after all. Those creatures, that geology: I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore…

The geology may be interesting, but the sky is fabulous!

The lifeforms also seem to imply that this world is or perhaps was not too close to the Endtown world, as all of those were dead worlds, destroyed by war. We rarely, if ever, glimpsed the sky in the Wally-verse. This sky implies a location quite some distance (in space, if not time) from the Endtown world.

Perhaps the plant outside Wally’s window drifted in through the gate from another world.

I’ve been begging for a Topsider story. All we know up to now is the “mutants” side of the story. And that side of the story has been, thus far, Topsiders exist for just one thing: To make “mutants” extinct.

Surely, there is more to the story than just hat.

Wild idea – The Topsider is Holly from an alternate time line where she never mutated. She’s following the map to Wally because she knows they are somehow connected.

I thought that gizmo looked familiar. Check out 12/09/11. Flask used something similar. Like a topsider iPhone… ;-)
