And Wally thought the problems couldn’t increase much more….they still can.

So much for Plan H. That went to hades. How about Plan I? … and does it involve getting rid of that toothbrush eye?

This is what happens when you don’t floss.

Could this be how they escape? Remember Doc was trying to smash it when Wally stopped her. This might break the connection between the realities causing this vortex to stop. This ball of brushes may be Doc’s final act.

Oooo-kay, device is now destroyed. Now what? Into the scary vortex, or look around to see if there’s an active portal they can dive into and escape?

Or perhaps the vortex isn’t giving them a choice for a positive reason. Wild theory: perhaps the toothbrush vortex (now with Amesworth’s intellect combined in it) knows that the navigation device is useless/dangerous to use and has destroyed it to keep Wally & Co. safe from it. Could the vortex toss the three of them to safety? Stay tuned…

Amesworth has harnessed the toothbrush hive mind; I wonder what she/it has in mind next?

Wally’s tail will be in permanent floof!

“You don’t need this TOY!” says the vortex, “I’LL SHOW you the way!!”

It’s possible that the device if used might have deposited them in an even worse situation and Amesworth knows it.

Okay, I did NOT see that coming…

What happened to cat-like reflexes? Neither Wally nor Duffy showed much response there.

Don’t give the device to the brush-nado!…never mind.

“She hands me her cell phone, says it’s my dad. Man, this ain’t my dad! This is a cell phone!”

And now, back to your regularly scheduled vortex, already in progress….

All I know for sure is that toothbrush companies everywhere are rooting for the vortex…

Actually, I don’t think there’s any way they can get out of this. They’re all going to die, and the comic will end.Like I thought would happen last time.And the time before.

Wow, just when I think things couldn’t get anymore climactic, I am proven wrong; but then I am usually proven wrong in this comic. Edge of my seat, Y’all! I’d say hold onto your hats, but I lost mine some time ago.

So – schism syndrome sets in on Dr. Amesworth, who converted while awake. And that leaves a convenient opening for “God”, who has access to the topsider lab and all its equipment, including the portal generator. And now “God” or “I” or whatever it’s calling itself can possess the entirety of the toothbrush hive mind. Really not lookin’ good unless Wally can figure out another way to open up a portal back home. I do think the topsider lab is no longer a viable option.

“Hello Wally, it’s good to see you again…”I got a feeling this vortex will be an eyeball. And it’s looking to make a deal.

This don’t look good! So long it’s been good to know you.

“Well! This is another fine mess you’ve gotten us into.”

All comments are good and entertaining! But, It’s not like Aaron to leave a plot sequence open and forgotten. The Topsiders portal has not been addressed again since they said that their side would only be open for a short period. I think our friends will (somehow) still wind up in the presence of the Topsiders lab.

Thinking outside the box. What if the toothbrushes are actually friendly, they fix the device and will help Wally and crew get back to their reality. Back on June 1st the toothbrushes had the message “Help Me”. Maybe they are going to help Wally so he can help them.
