Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them an you have their shoes.
Sure, baby clothes are cute, but I’d rather get my fix by buying a gift for someone else. By the time you get those bitty clothes on, they’ve spit up on them or you have to change their diaper.
Susan, surely you’ve been pregnant before; that’s ALL of us! Did you make it all the way through your pregnancy without groaning once in a while? If you did, I’m nominating you for Mother Mary-hood. Maybe that you’re only seeing the negative about her says something about negativity…
If Elly’s jealous of Anne being pregnant now, then why did it take so long for her to become pregnant with April? Apparently she wasn’t as envious as she thought she was when it got right down to it!
Ellie’s pregnancy with April was unplanned, and she was several years older than she is represented to be now. A young mother longing for the “infant days” is a far cry from the older mom who is well past the “diaper derby”.
I love baby clothes! But I am so happy I will never go through the pregnancy or the first few months again!!! My youngest is 2 and understands me, talks, and is becoming a child, much to my joy.
(I am OK with labor- that’s the easy part)
My shoes always fit, which is lucky since I wear a women’s 12 as is.
This one is pretty true for most of the women I know. Both sides of it.
My 4 children are now 50 or more and although I had all 4 in 5 years I don’t regret it (but yes I groaned over the difficulty to get around, up out of seats, and my general appearance)- it ALL vanishes when the doctor first shows you your newborn! so you can forget all that + the hours of labor and just revel in the beauty that you behold!
Susan, then that explains why you don’t understand how women can love and want a child , but still be miserable during at least part of their pregnancies.

And before anyone asks, Elly does NOT get pregnant with April this month (check back around July 2017, though!)

Then, at that rate, I may never live to see Elizabeth get married - again :-(

Arye, sorry to hear that. Are you much older than I (I’m 73) or seriously ill?
