Out in the wild, that growl would make me turn tail and run like I’ve never run before. In the home, I’d be a good hubby and make her a cup of tea.

Susan , how ugly. Elly is not what you called her!

No, she has young children who have to be kept an eye on, but that doesn’t mean said children have to keep annoying her.

Surely you’re not suggesting she leave the kids alone while she goes to the library?

We all know that mothers are never, ever, ever, under any circumstances, supposed to lose their tempers, but that’s just malarkey.

Susan Mothers are only HUMAN and lose thier temers too !!!!!!!!

GROWL may have been this strip’s equivilant of &%^*#%%#, which you don’t yell at your kids. Or, perhjaps on retrospect, GROWL replaced the yelling as a simple way of getting through to the dense, young man.

Added to which, I don’t doubt that Mike knows exactly what he’s doing, and the growl was the anticipated (desired?) reaction.

If I was busy with a project, my kids had to go out to the yard where we had the playground stuff. I had windows across the whole rear, and could keep an eye on them and friends while sewing or whatever.

Michael was just testing the “water”.
