Our boys have told me something similar about our new baby. If it’s a boy, they want to name it either Mario, Luigi or Wolverine, and if it’s a girl, Peach or Mary Poppins. Told them they can call the baby whatever they want, but Daddy and I are naming it!

I guess that would depend. I know some boys who have developed faster than girls and vice versa.

It’s been my experience that for the most part as Lizzie is the younger sibling she will rely on Michael to communicate for her, and will take more time to begin speaking.

My son and daughter-in-law taught both my grand kids basic sign language before they could talk to get what they wanted without crying for it. I was amazed, but it sure seemed to work.

I wonder how many parents named their newborns either Luke or Leia when Star Wars was a hit?

My younger son didn’t speak until he was 4, and he’s now attending college for computer engineering.

If Christopher has to call his new baby brother something, Luke Skywalker’s better than Darth Vader, I guess!

I feel sorry for kids named after stupid movie characters, my boss’s moron grand daughter named her kid Anakin. What a way to go through life, “Ana-who?”

I never went with “trendy” names for my kids but renamed myself many times through my teen years (usually trying to keep my initials but now my SCA personna is Beatrice). I love a name that just means blessed and happy. My kids all have some version of family names.
