I’ve worked for local government for years, and, sadly, this is one of the techniques used by ‘higher ups’ to discourage activists from staying involved when a decision on an unpopular project is planned …

    Lynn’s Notes:

I confess. The word “committee” gives me hives. I have served on several. As golf ruins a good walk, lunch is ruined by a committee.

From the look of how long this is dragging, if Elly saved two dollars a day she would have enough money to pay for theatre renovations.

I was once appointed to a committee, the job of which was to advise another appointed committee that advised the regional governmental agency that advised the local governmental bodies. As soon as I figured that out, I quit with a suggestion that they disband.

A camel is a horse designed by a committee.

One of Murphy’s corollaries: a) The more important there is a decision to be made, the larger must be the committee assigned to make that decision b) The more important there is a decision to be made, the harder it will be to identify the decision maker.

Linguist“No committee could ever come up with anything as revolutionary as a camel – anything as practical and as perfectly designed to perform effectively under such difficult conditions.” – Laurence J. Peter (of the Principle fame).lee PhillipsThe original quote is not Murphy, but anonymous from Vogue, July 1958.

For God so loved the world that he did NOT send a committee.

Just as long as you remember that a committee is a life form with 6 or more legs and no head.
