If you’re looking for a trace of your longtime loved one, look in their eyes. That’s where you’ll find them.

I love being retired! I can be a kid again. All play, no work. I go ice skating every day and spend time and money on lessons, new programs for competition and traveling to skate around the country and in ’Europe , too. No job or kids to hold me back! I love that Grandpa is in a band! Hope they get to play somewhere besides the garage!

In tomorrow’s strip they’ll be sitting in bathtubs…..

My folks were devoted to one another after 60 years of marriage. They really set the bar.

My mom moved to one of those places. Suddenly I almost needed an appointment to see her. She joined a dozen clubs and was always going to one social event or another. Then COVID hit and they are just now slowly starting clubs up again. Seems like just as soon as they build up some steam though Covid rears its ugly head again and they pump the brakes.

The last generation to know unconditional love.

Ahh, a sweet one. I wonder what the Negative Nellies will say about this one.

Said almost that same thing to my wife(on our 48th anniversary) and she laughed at me and told me to get my eyes examined ! ! ! !

Oh how sweet, wished my hubby be that romantic. Though my hubby has given me sweet gifts last long time.

I have been quite the couch potato since I retired nearly three years ago. Some hikes, things like that, but nothing strenuous. This week I began replacing the flooring in about half the house; my son (who has severe chronic back problems) joined in for the things he could do without load bearing, but we killed off the first 300 lbs of flooring yesterday. I didn’t think my body would put up with that amount of work in one day but I gained energy through the day until nearly midnight, when the first room was done enough to set up the bed. Today we will finish it off; tomorrow I will bring up the next 700 lbs from Phoenix and Friday (if all goes well) I will bring up the last of it – just over a ton altogether.

I had no idea that our bodies can feel older than we are.

And the memories come flooding back…

My husband and I have been married for over 46 years. It’s how we feel, too. He is my best friend and I am his. Mushy, but true.

This is the way it’s supposed to be. These days, it’s as if marriage certificates have expiration dates.
