Sometimes I wonder how Shakespeare would feel about what he wrote as bawdy entertainment being force fed to high schoolers to “analyze” how great it is (not that it isn’t great, but I think Shakespeare would have rather seen people laughing at it being performed than grumbling about writing an in-depth analytical paper about it!).
