Television: You're watching CBS! The network that brought you "Survivor" Not to mention, "Survivor II"! And just a few short months, "Survivor III"! Did we mention we're the network that brought you "Survivor."
The two show proposals that never would have worked before the turn Of the century but somehow changed television forever:1. Let’s strand a bunch of people on an island and make them compete for food.2. Let’s put a bunch of cameras in Ozzy Osbourne’s house and see what happens.
When the show first came out, I was naive enough to think that they’d really be fighting to survive, and it could be entertaining. Their contrived notion of “surviving,” though, is pure schlock. I wouldn’t care about the prevalence of crappy “reality” TV if that garbage wasn’t displacing opportunities for scripted shows. On the plus side, due to the low quality of programming, there are only a couple of live shows I bother watching each week.
They could really make Survivor worth watching, put the contestants on the island w/ the camera crew and pass out machetes and just enough food and water for three days.

Dang, you just beat me to it, Fish. I thought maybe Roger was kneeling on the sofa expressing his opinion of CBS.

I never watched Survivor either. Maybe it’s the chair mooning the TV.

I watch “The Amazing Race”. Though the “reality” is debatable, it’s still an entertaining show.

If I want reality, I’ll watch the news. Otherwise, I much prefer to be entertained by trained thespians.

I’m not really one for Survivor. The most interesting thing about it is when Richard Hatch got arrested for tax evasion on his prize.

“They” say that the ratings are still high, kind of like “American Idol”, but I don’t know anyone who admits to watching either one.

I love “Extreme Makeover Home Edition.” The rest can take a long walk off a short pier!
