Recently took to doing some basic investments after the gamestop spike. Hasn’t been enough to live off but I’m not gonna say no to a couple hundred extra.
That said, if y’all want in keep an eye on blockchain companies. The crypto boom right now is making them rise pretty quickly with occasional dips.
I taught an adult computer class once where I went forging ahead with the 1st lesson… and ½ the class just sat there looking at me… found out they didn’t know how to turn the computers on — recalibrated ALL my lesson plans.
I have a brother in law that has decided to do some day trading – but on the side, so at least he still has a regular income. Turns out that A – it is a lot of work to keep up on the market and B – you have to have some serious ice water in the veins to take your profit in a hot streak and not panic at small dips. I have neither that kind of time, nor really the nerve – at least based on my experiences gambling at cards.
I accidently reformatted my first work computer (IBM Z248) so many times, the IT dude brought me copies of the application software and taught me to how to fix it myself! This also taught me to back-up all my work (on floppy disks).
A prof I knew at an Ivy League school was chatting with new students at a reception held at the beginning of the school term, and one of the incoming students, on finding that Roy’s PhD was in Chinese, asked him (fatuously) about the “Chinese philosophy of life”. Roy thought for a second and then said, “Buy low, sell high”. The lad who asked the question gushed something in appreciation and then said, “What does that mean in English?”
Good advice circa 1970: Don’t waste your money investing in “Garage Startups” like Microsoft, the big computer companies (IBM) will crush them like a grape and write their own Disk Operating System (Any body remember an OS called “WARP.”)

Instead of buying low and selling high you could always sell high and then buy low.

Do we know what his actual job was? I just get a vague impression of generic office worker, somewhere in the middle of the food chain.

Does this arc end up with the Fox family becoming homeless for a time? Because it seems like this is where it’s going to go.

Not another week of this! The joke’s been exhausted and it’s becoming tedious. Send him back to work and move on to another storyline.
