Mrs. Olsen: ...So be forewarned... Caulfield: Mrs. Olsen? Isn't "forewarned" a tautology? A repetitive redundancy? Aren't all warnings in advance by definition? Then agian, if it's a matter of superfluous definition and not wanton duplication, maybe that makes it a pleonasm. For stalling. I hate vocabulary tests.
I have a pretty fair vocabulary, and I had to remind myself what a pleonasm is.
