Caulfield: What's that? Frazz: My Boston Marathon cowbell. A friend sent it to me when i qualified. I was a great motivator. Caulfield: But didn't you get hurt? Frazz: Yup. Then it became my motivation to get back there. Caulfield: So why are you getting rid of it? Frazz: Another friend just pulled out of the olympic trials with a stress fracture, so i'm sending it to him to say well, i'm still not completely sure what it says. Caulfield: What it says to me is your sister is coming to visit and bringing the twins. Frazz: Last time, it took them less than a minute to find the stupid thing.
Love Frazz’s expression in the last panel! ⍢ True story: Several years ago, my father mentioned he was going to visit my grandmother that afternoon, and I asked if I could bring my two young sons and ride along, since we hadn’t seen her in a while. When we got there, the boys went out to play in the back, and we sat and visited in the living room. After about the third time I said something like, “That’s really pretty, is it new?” my Gramma gave a little sigh and chuckled, and said, “No, I’ve had it for years. I just didn’t know you and the boys were coming today.”
