One of the ways to win is to redefine the criteria. I always figure “I win” when I manage to find out how to make my gadget do something I want it to do… as opposed to the default settings. Even more winning if it’s an add-on that makes it even more useful, as opposed to just better looking.
I once had a digital watch. Trying to set it was a major challenge. With one hand you hand to hold two buttons on one side down, while, with the other hand, you had to hold a button on the other side down, while, with your third hand you…. well, suffice it to say, I gave it to good will and bought a real watch. Now that I am retired, I ignore watches.

After more than a quarter of a century, I still don’t know how my wife works, either.

Caulfield look closer. It may have temperature and moisture sensors wired in! Look online if you didn’t get an owners manual.

Wasn’t for Christmas, but my wife did buy me undies recently with a different fly design than I had ever seen
Didn’t take much to figure out how they worked, and it is an improvement

Never mind all that fancy hardware, just get a smart phone and download Strava.

Are we really to believe that Caulfield’s only Christmas present was underwear?!

Of course a watch that doesn’t run is useless.
