…I question your basic premise, ma’am. If you’re suggesting that fractions are as interesting as jiujitsu, you’re out of your gray-haired gourd.

Sometimes it hurts a little when your own argument is turned around and used against you.

He started out as a smart kid who was bored in school. He has evolved into a lazy jerk.

Great graphic of the conversation. Concise and succinct. In one sentence Mrs. Olsen cancelled Caulfield’s three. Age and experience count in lots of way the young rarely ever imagine until they are lucky enough to get there themselves.

I had a long term relationship with a woman (RIP) who was a black belt in judo. I told her I was with her for the protection.

Beautifully done, I love the color drop for the imagination, and the subtle punchline.

Going into each day’s class with the idea that it’s a competition between you and the teacher, and one of you needs to be the winner while the other must be a loser, seems to me to be a fine example of a bad attitude.

Paying attention is difficult when you’re bored out of your skull. Classroom learning is difficult as it goes at the teacher’s pace which only matches the pace some of the students need.
