Puts me in mind of one of mom’s favorite questions when I was a kid: “If all your friends ran and jumped off a cliff, would you do it too?”

Tbf, in Finland it is usually a lot colder than in some parts of the USA. In summer, the temperatures don’t go much higher than 24 Celsius.

You can also do that thing where you blow air through a bucket of ice to make the most expensive A/C ever (if you keep running it for long enough). Or just run an ice cube (our fridge makes “ice lunes”) over your pulse points.

I don’t think I’d eat anything from Bella Donna’s Bodega.

Just the name alone would push me to another eatery. But Caulfield’s ice pool is a very good idea. Only problem at my age, is getting into or out of it.

Also, in many places it’s socially acceptable to be naked in the sauna.

Sticking your feet in two buckets of water with some ice will make you lose most of your body heat.

Not just Finland but many places. It’s common among some Native American groups but I guess he’s never heard of sweat lodges.

It’s also not weird considering they don’t get weather like that in Finland. Or on the shores of Gitchee Gumee, Upper Peninsula, Michigan.

Refuse since I am over 70 with a heart condition. Father Time will stop the clock soon enough. No need to hurry it along.

We’re in the middle of 13 triple digit days here, humidity today is 22, the other day it was 17. Not any kind of sauna, thankful for dry.

Some Norwegians use their greenhouses as a summertime getaway. The ones I saw in a community of inner city retreats from their stuffy apartment blocks. A glass house with a recliner and a tiny house to sleep in and amenities, no plants in any. Of course I can’t find anything about it in Google but I have pictures from my visit, 2011-2012. I couldn’t imagine lounging in a green house in the summer heat.
