Wouldn’t you hate to be the one who didn’t have a hook hand?

Last I knew (which, granted, has been years, well, OK, decades) no digit on a basketball jersey’s number could be greater than 5 – is that still the case or was that just my state’s high school rules? The refs had to be able to signal the offender’s jersey number to the scorekeeper with one hand, so 17 would be an illegal jersey number. Not that pirates are good are following the rules anyway!
