When I was very young (long, long ago, and in a galaxy far, far away), one of my most beloved books was Scuppers the Sailor Dog by Margaret Wise Brown, illustrated by Garth Williams. A simple story of a sailor dog with a bit of an identity crises, the illustrations charmed me then, and continue to do so now.
“Knock Loudly, I’m Home” made me think of this charming story at once. Thanks for the memories.
