Well, there aren’t any PEOPLE in the strip, are there?

Nice doggy. Now go lie on your dog house and pretend you’re flying a WWI airplane.

You can’t laugh at a dog that’s off duty, it’s in his contract.

I like my dogs with mustard and onion. I don’t care about funny.

(It’s a good thing he’s off duty; because, just between you and me, I think I wouldn’t laugh at him, ever.)

That BMW Isetta police car on the blog is terrific.

Agreed – I laughed hard the first time I saw a VW Beetle Police Car in Austria in the 70’s, but this is even better. Apparently the fine tradition continues in Italy.

Have a couple ‘Salty Dogs’ at the local pub.

And, for what it’s worth, I had one of those hand grenades, but I hadn’t thought about it for half a century. The thing was set up to use single caps, and I think I ordered it from an advertisement just like this one. Loved that thing.

Good thing I was off-duty too—didn’t miss a thing.

Re: Guitarists also do this. Ironically, it’s also so it won’t scratch the Fender.Perhaps another layer of irony…My best friend from Jr high through college played in a pretty good band. They were the house band at Indiana Beach while we were in college. He played a Fender guitar yet I had no idea guitarists also did this.Best part was I got in free to see bands like the Beach Boys play at the ‘ballroom’ there and had full access to the place.Sad footnote. He and his wife were killed in a traffic accident. Taken out by a drunk running a stop sign.
