Do you feel lucky, punkin?

A cat’s got to know his limitations.

And make sure it’s in a sunny spot.

A day bed is a lot easier to make than a Siamese twin bed.

And put out a saucer of milk, please! mmmeeeoooowwww

Way back when my aunt was living, her house had a fully-enclosed former front porch with a simple day bed (on which as a youth I sometimes slept over). She had two cats, old and aloof Blackie, the dominant mistress of all she surveyed, and much younger calico Princess. Yet neither much cared for the front day bed. Maybe it wasn’t cool enough and hidden enough for their ways….

As a cat, I usually feel entitled to sleep wherever and whenever I feel is appropriate. But being a cat makes it difficult to hold a job, so I usually avoid it when not at home.

If you have a dog you are its owner … if you have a cat you are a member of its staff.

And yet I made it through the day and have returned here, to Frog Applause, no wiser but more weary, without my day bed being made up. I had though for sure that this time it would be done, but it was not to be so. Maybe if I had a daybed, I could make it up myself. But that would be work.
