Interesting visual. That said, I have never met anyone from Vermont. I know next to nothing about the state other than its capital. What are people from Vermont called btw? Too tired to google…
Slightly off-topic but still about water. I found this site today that asks for your zip code or state. From there, you can find out which contaminants are in your local tap water. Scary. Even scarier are the millions of people in the world with access to ONLY filthy water — water teeming with parasites and pollutants.

EWG’s Tap Water DatabaseSince 2010, water utilities’ testing has found pollutants in Americans’ tap water, according to an EWG drinking water quality analysis of 30 million state water records.
Georgia not being land-locked like Vermont could allow it set out to sea on its own. Yeah yeah, nearly all of Florida would have to follow, but perhaps it could serve as the vessel itself with Georgia as the mainsail.
Yes, I know how geological stuff works, despite certain of the golden baboon’s keepers having been brought up having to read newspapers using LSD for ink. ‘Highlights for Children,’ my ass!

It was wholly a pleasure to see your kind reference to my Rotty at the end of your screed about lawyers. The law firm of Rotifer & Rotifer is strictly pro bono publico (it loses money on every case and makes it up in volume).
And, there’s good news in the pasta-related flatulence department. I have weaned him from pasta with French wine and cheeses. What could possibly go wrong!
@WILLIAM NEAL MCPHEETERS. Wait. Are you serious? Did I miss something? I don’t understand. What happened that you don’t want to post here now? Do you mean GoComics or just Frog Applause? Does this have anything to do with DOGSNIFF?
I figure visiting my cousin in central New Hampshire is close enough. Besides, I wouldn’t want to be marooned, in the event that the Green Mountain State should float out to sea. Vermont always did seem a bit insular, as I had been to all the other New England states, but not it….
I am greatly disturbed by @WILLIAM NEAL MCPHEETERS announcement that he doesn’t intend to post here (FA or GC?) again. It’s one thing to lose people who wander in and out, but WNP has been a lameworthy voice around here for A LONG TIME under a different name for a while. Losing him is like losing one of the family. I can only guess, of course, but I have a feeling that this news will distress Teresa greatly. Please explain WNP. Give us a chance to win you back.

Georgian legislators apparently believed that the continents were a thin crust of land floating on water.
The ones living by the coast were confused by the fact that the ocean was salty, and the water from their wells was not.

They might as well allow both Florida and California to also float away..

I remember reading about the Green Mountain Boys and Nathan Hale once a long time ago. There was a book series about all sorts of such things.
Vermont ranges from a mountainous 4,900 some feet down to Lake Champlain.
I also read all the UFO books, like about Project Blue Book and the Condon Report.
I’ve seen a UFO. I’ve never seen a Green Mountain Boy.
This would indicate to me that Vermont has already floated out to sea.
Perspective is always right, especially when it isn’t.

Most legislative resolutions carry symbolic value only. Even the hateful ones. Or especially the hateful ones.

Those who imagine that the Confederacy fought the Civil War to support state’s rights might do well to consider the context of the quote.

Don’t forget to slather your trout with maple syrup before throwing it on the grill.
It doesn’t make it less pestiferous, that is what the fire is for. It makes it taste good.
