Bath time should be a pleasant experience. Beagle #1 and#2, raised together, did not agree with that. I had to get sneaky. I learned that if I used dog shampoo, as soon as they saw the bottle they disappeared. I switched to baby shampoo and kept it in the shower. I would get their towels into the bathroom, lots of towels. I would then put on their leads and take them for a short walk, leave the leads on, walk them into the bathroom and shut the door. I took them, leads still on, into the walk-in shower and shut the door. Drop the leads over the top of the door to the floor, warm up the water (hose, so the water just went down the drain until the temp was right) and finally could bathe the two wiggly beagles. Oddly, they didn’t seem to actually mind the process of getting clean. Grab some towels off the top of the door, wipe as much water off as I could, then put the leads on and walk them outside, if warm enough. If not, keep trying to dry them. Beagles #1 and #2 would immediately, upon being released, jump on my bed and roll all over it to dry off anyway. I kept calm during the experience, hoping it would help.
