“Mah Nà Mah Nà” first appeared in an Italian film, SWEDEN: HEAVEN AND HELL (1968) a ‘documentary’ about ‘wild practices in Sweden’ (you can guess what kind, the site won’t let me print it here.) Its American debut was on the Red Skelton Show in 1969-70. It was used in the opener for every episode! The Muppet version was made in November 1969 for Sesame Street and re recorded for The Muppet Show in 1976. Benny Hill used the tune on his show beginning in 1971. And there are actual lyrics. I had to correct Floof and Sirius’ dialogue when I looked it up!
