And we have a three-cornered update for the 24th, Crazy Quilt has a crazy idea about breaking off the reservation to hunt down his own supply… we (apparently) find out what Minthandy’s plan is to reclaim women’s legs out from under the cover of “the new look”… and Adam & Eve have a gift for father Corky.

I suppose it was natural that by 1948, there was quite a pent-up demand for new ladies’ fashions, and something using more material might have felt luxurious at that moment in time (after rationing).

An angel is leaning on the date, and another one is running instead of flying.

80 (1943) – Supplies and mail arrive from above; also, war news from this date

75 (1948) – Skeezix drives to the farm

60 (1963) – Stuck in the snow and looking for shelter

The ox and the donkey became traditional in Nativity scenes as a reference to Isaiah 1:3: “The ox knows its master, the donkey its owner’s manger.”

I’m listening to Wink Martindale’s countdown of the greatest Christmas songs. I won’t get through all of it because I have other things I have to do. A lot of them I’ve never heard of and i don’t know who’s ranking them.

Along with songs he’s playing comedy recordings. Jack Benny was in a store looking for a negligee. You-know-who said they didn’t have any in his size.
