I once ran into the entire Maple Leaf team going upstairs during an early walk in downtown Toronto – no idea any more where I was – and I was going down. They were all wearing navy spandex with no labels, I had no idea who they were, but they just kept coming, and eventually I just took a corner on a landing and waited for them all to pass. They were very polite, telling me to be patient, that they would all be past soon. I wasn’t showing signs of impatience. I was more curious. At the bottom of the stairs, there was a man with a clipboard, so I asked, “What was that?” And he said, “The Maple Leafs. They are here for shooting a commercial. Thanks for your patience.” As if I didn’t enjoy the view! All very polite and sweet.

I’m just impressed that Bucky knows enough about the cities and regions of Canada to make jokes about them. Even human Americans (at least when I was growing up) weren’t taught much about our neighbor to the north.

Satchel will fight the other dog, then apologize.
