Where have you been? I told you that I was going to get a drink of water. That was 20 minutes ago! I told you to hurry back! I did. But if you wanted me to hurry on the way there, you should have been more specific.
The one thing my dad wouldn’t allow was my being snippy or sassy, as he called it, to my mother. Only got swatted once, lightly, but his glower was enough to shape me up. The longer you let it go on the more ingrained it becomes.
