Heart: What did you do to get fired, Mom? Mom: I didn't do anything, Heart... And I wasn't fired. I got "laid off." Sometimes businesses don't make enough money and changes have to be made... in order for the business to say open, some people have to be let go. In this case, my whole department was laid off.
