"summer in the city" Poetry by Heart Hey hidey o! Where'd Dean's little swim trunks go? He laid them there so they could dry, a homeless man then happened by-zippity zippity Zed! Now Dean's trunks are on his head. I ran across the burning street, and now I have two burning feet. Flick! Flick! Flick! I had an ice cream cone to lick. Plip! Plap! Plop! On the sidewalk it did drop. And since the sun will melt it soon, I now must eat it with a spoon. This summer I saw some scary things, I saw a pigeon with three wings! A scary dog! A scary cat! I even saw a scary rat! But the scariest thing of them all: A "back to school sign at the mall.
