So many ways to interpret this. She could be crying because she isn’t as young as she use to be. Or perhaps a wave of nostalgia?

A wave of crying over her love for Heart and remembering when she was much smaller and less sophisticate.

Eh. Cut off the toes and I think Heart would still fit into it – doesn’t seem so much smaller.

If Mom’s this much of a wreck with nostalgia while Heart’s still a little girl, she’s going to be a mess when Heart goes off to college.

YES,but it’s staying in the spirit of the season.

My daughter took her old H’ween costumes, which I made for her when she was a little girl, for her own little daughter. When she asked if we still had them, that brought a tear to my eye. Where did all that time go?…

Awwww….Sweet!!

I can understand the my-little-girl-is-growing-up interpretation, but an alternative is that Mom thinks of how as she herself is getting older it’s harder to fit into her own prized clothes and Heart’s situation seems minor by comparison.

Because you only wore it one time. Stuff costs money, Heart.
