Dean: Man on man, it's really coming down! Dean: Maybe they'll let us out early! Heart: Are you kidding me?! We shouldn't even be going to school in the first place! Heart: the fun part is having school canceled when you're still in your pajamas, half asleep under the covers! Dean: True. I guess we already did the hard stuff.
Even in the 60s when I went to school, there were regional differences in how they dealt with weather. In Illinois, from 3rd grade on, I don’t recall schools ever being closed on account of weather. On the other hand, we’d come from Louisiana, and there they sent us home early one day when there was just a dusting of sleet.
