That’s fine until you run into something that’s reverse-threaded, such as one of the pedals on a bicycle. Had to replace the pedals ages ago and found one of them screwed on “backwards.” However, it made sense compared to the rotation of the sprocket; were it threaded normally, the one pedal would unscrew and fall off while you pedaled.
