Listening to NPR today, I heard that one of the NPR team had looked at the arrest records, which include date of birth. This riot’s average age (based on the ones they’ve caught so far) was mid 40s. Average. It’s the “Old White Guys” revolution.
Lucky for them they weren’t peacefully protesting in the path of the president* on his way to a photo op. If they had been, things might have gotten ugly!
Here’s another:You can’t spell “sedition” without i d i o t s.
You know, in the 1930s the reactionary Nazis got their inroad to power by convincing the German conservatives to permit them into the conservative tent. Of course, once they got enough power they turned on the conservatives, too. The current batch of U.S. reactionaries has been using the U.S. conservatives in the exact same way, and the conservatives fell for it, hook, line, and sinker for years. Lindsey Graham acknowledged his start of awakening the other day when we got far too close to an insurgent mob destroying one of the pillars of democracy, the legislature (which has already surrendered far too much of its power to the current imperial president who created many EOs that he did NOT have the Constitutional power to create since they usurped the powers of the legislature and of the states). Thankfully, unlike Germany back then, the legislature did not give up to dictatorship, though a few reactionaries in Congress still tried to fold democracy, and one (Hawley) even saluted the insurgent mob.
Trump has released a message in which he “admonished” the behavior of the “protesters” and claimed that he was “focused” on a peaceful transition of power. In effect, Trump has tried to drag his supporters under the bus to join him. They, if course are PO’ed and they think — feel emotionally, that is; thinking never enters into their excuse for ratiocination — Trump has betrayed them. Imagine that (/s)!!
Trump STILL failed to concede that he lost the election. Nor did he acknowledge or retract any of his lies about the results’ validity. His message is just that much more BS from a CS “man” whose entire life has been built on BS. There is nothing new in this scenario. Trump’s ONLY valid and authentic remaining course of action is to resign immediately and accept the consequences of his behavior an a so-called president*.
This.. is what America’s hallowed “Free Speech” gets you. So long as the media is allowed to incite with false and irresponsible speech.. “this” will continue.

Wise up. It is time for moderates and actual conservatives to take the Republican Party back from the reactionaries, legally depose them from their positions of power all over our nation, and for the leadership of both parties to make sure that they can not infiltrate a major U.S. political party ever again.
All of the electronics in the Capitol Building must now be considered to be potentially breached and not safe to be used.
Also, it is essential to remember how recently Trump fired so many high level military and security experts and replaced them with his boot lickers. Was that timed?
Another question that arose today that is related to some Capitol Police high-fiving the insurgents, their beforehand refusal of help from the National Guard, and their understaffing for the 6th: why had they locked away the hoses used for spraying cold water on those who break through the barriers?
The FBI is asking for help identifying rioters…..uummmm? Um?.. dosen’t the Bureau have a mega closet full of sleuthing tools….I mean they have facial identification apps, they have access to media archives, ummm? …all the clips and pics….taken during the siege…so what gives? Maybe that’s how the Bureau advertises that they are doing the job…?….IDK…seems to me that there is plenty of evidence about the instigators and organizers….maybe the FBI should try doing facial recognition on the guy who stood up in front of that crowd and spoke about “taking back” and “let’s all walk to the capital”
Back in the 60s and 70s there were a number of college campuses (campi?) taken over by (mostly) students. Administrators were having a hissy fit. At this time, CalState Hayward was being built – and then modified into a version of a dark ages fortress. Everything but a drawbridge.
A seat of higher learning? – NOT SO MUCH.
‘Wonder what the Capitol’s gonna look like when they’re finished?
12 foot high fence with razor wire on the top?
Or will Trump finally get his wall – around the Beltway?
It isn’t unusual for law enforcement to solicit information from the public when pursuing wanted persons. A tip that tells agents wanted person A just left a gas station at milepost xxx on Interstate XX in a western state saves the Bureau a wasted trip to an address in New England.
The quickest way to round up all the people identified from video at the nation’s capitol Wednesday is for the public to do the maximum groundwork possible for pursuing agents, while also enabling the FBI — and other local law enforcement they can call upon for assistance — to best utilize their personnel to discharge their normal duties while also taking on this unexpected, quite large, and manpower intensive activity.
It occurred to me that the schmuck that sat in Nancy Pelosi’s desk, with his feet on the desk, could additionally be charged with burglary because of the missing money from her desk . . .
Sure, I’m making it up, but who doesn’t want this pendejo do 10 to 20 without – in a private prison run by one of Trump’s cronies?
Two quick comments: (1) synchronize with history…counter-revolution is more appropriate…(2) Still punk kids to me. I’m twice their age. My arrest record was mostly for civil rights and peace.
