It is a shame for every 1000 good cops there is one bad one. And they are the ones that get the press. Thank you for you service. And I am glad you are out there except for a couple of years ago when I got a ticket. (my fault)

Love how in addition to Marcy’s job being challenging and busy, the doctor (in the top, near left) is showing that he, at the very least, takes an interest in Marcy, appreciates her work, and sees her as a genuine human with true competency to boot…. many nurses don’t always get such treatment, as some who are patients look at nurses as “not quite high enough” on the professional scale, and sometimes interact with them in a discourteous way…. -—Some doctors (but not all!) have the ego and self-worth that seems to be inflated because of their station and can become quite demanding and intolerant and inconsiderate of those that REALLY DO make their job easier, and are there during the critical phases of care, such as triage and assessments and discharge, not to mention what’s involved in inpatient stays and surgeries, Health Information Management related things… for nurses, it goes on and on…

I went to school with someone who became a police officer… having known him and the kind of person he is, it also helps me to see the human side of being a police officer. When he’s on duty and I see him in passing and can speak, I’ll address him as “Officer (plus his last name)”, and when I see him off duty, I’ll call him by the friendly nickname he had in school, which is a part of his name…--Are there people who don’t put their own profession in the best light? Yes, but that’s the case with everything… it’s not always the way it’s depicted on TV (and sadly sometimes the news)…. Joe and Marcy do what they do, and afterward, they have families to go home to, those that make up part of the stable center in their life… they are not just professionals, people with a “job title”…. they are people, too… human beings….

Excellent, Robb, just excellent! All our first responders, medical personnel (my mom was a Lt. in the Army Nurse Corp. in WW 2 and was a Registered Nurse for 40 years), our soldiers and Vets (my hubby was in the 82nd Airborne) and all those who serve to protect us each day, the TRULY UNSUNG HEROES!

Teresa: When the subject of women in combat first came up, the response was “what if they are captured”? Six in Guam, about a dozen in the Philippines (it would have been more but for the forceable evacuation by submarine from Corregador). Those who refuse to study history…
