But think about it, why should that make a difference? Your job is to maintain law and order and to protect citizens against violence.
If you could capture your relative without using deadly force, why not the same for anybody else? And if the only way to defend yourself or protect other citizens against a stranger was to use deadly force, why not use it against a relative?This of course does not address the difference in personal emotional trauma between the two scenarios.
