The Plymouth Horizon my mother once drove had a low undercarriage; I remember how noisy it was driving it one evening on our country roads. Sounds like your friend also drove a vehicle that didn’t sit high off the ground, nor have 4-wheel drive. Very different from the vehicles of most of my former neighbors in the countryside; theirs could pull sedans up semi-icy, 20-degree hills on dirt roads. As long as your Chrysler and your friend’s Ford didn’t get undercarriage damage from driving through the snow.
