Why not? It’s only once a year for each officer.

Only so many people can be off at any given time, particularly in positions like police officers, firefighters, or health care workers. The employee knows well in advance when anniversaries and birthdays will come up and should request the time off as far in advance as possible. Of course emergent situations may arise, but nobody has an emergency anniversary.

Time to renegotiate the union contract.

It also helps to give her more than three days’ notice.

I believe two weeks is minimum notice for most things in bureaucracy.

Who knew that Captain Ruiz has such a “soft” side?

The reason why she said no is probably more because he asked just two days priors than she is a cold hearted boss.

She’s just very serious about keeping the city safe and wants every officer to partake.

So how many officers are in her department (or whatever it’s called)? BION, if there are more than 24, chances are >50% that two of them occur on the same date! And that’s if you figure anniversay dates are equally likely in any part of the year. If you figure weddings are more likely to have occurred in the summer, then the “50%” number is much lower, maybe only 15.

Well, you asked the week of. At my work, we have to put planned days off in a book at least two weeks in advance.

So on their anniversary,Marcy does a “ride-along” with Joe and ends up giving somebody CPR.
