When I wrote this gag—-weeks ago—-my intention was to just to make a joke about one of those moments in a relationship where one person is feeling frisky and the other just wants to go to sleep that night. (And either sex can be in either role.)
By the way, the guy’s argument here is absurd and ultimately doomed!
In the immediate aftermath of the Kavanaugh hearings, I realize this can unfortunately take on a different and less innocent connotation.
In a scene from Two and a Half Men, she says, “Only if you can do it without waking me up”. A brief pause, then she says, “You’re really thinking about it, aren’t you?”
