CHOMP!
Gotcha!
Some days, it just isn’t your day. Know what I mean, Lio? …Lio? Where’d that kid go now?!
Prepare for an upset stomach.
Apparently the Kite-Eating Tree is now varying its diet.
I thought trees only ate kites.
Lio got there one day before the “Bite worse than his bark ” warning sign.
@baslimthebegger - those 2 make up for the one down the block ;-)
That teaches Lio not to wander off the yellow brick road.
Guess Lio won’t have to worry about being a ‘swinger’ when he’s an adult, eh?
Lio better hope Tom Bombadil comes along soon!
Ha ha good one SCOTTtheBADGER, Tom Bombadil, my all time favorite character.
Another way to end this strip…only he’ll be back tomorrow.
Self packaging box lunch
Now, that tree’s” bite “is worse than it’s”bark”
Tree needs its food. Whom would’ve thought it be you!
I think that tree bit off more than it can chew. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Lio selling firewood tomorrow.
His bite’s bigger than his bark.
For Shiek: “You don’t want any of THOSE Lios. They’re probably rotten.”
Lio - 60% off! Happiness is a Squishy Cephalod. First Lio book just $5.18 at Amazon! http://tinyurl.com/29qx7wm
Contains the hysterical first year of strips. I give it 10 stars out of four.

Now that’s a mouthful
The tree must be Eva’s.
So I take it the Poltergiest tree that got sucked into the tornado landed in Lio backyard. Not good!
Ah. The Taking Tree, a little-known and generally-unreferenced book by Shel Silverstein.
Ahh, the memories… Talking trees, a wicked witch, a kid meeting colorful new friends… Yes, “H.R. Pufnstuf” is truly a classic for the ages.
That’s funny-he doesn’t look like Old Man Willow.
One of my favorites to date!
@Scott the Badger BRILLIANT!
With such a big trunk and supergulp, I bet it’s got a knot in its stomach!
I wonder if Lio has any matches. Those would be hand right about now.
Bad dogwood! Bad!
Bad tree, you spit that out right now, you don’t know where it’s been!
Oh, no! It’s the tree from “From Hell it Came”! Easily the worst horror movie ever.
Folks already beat me to it, but… “Eat earth! Dig deep! Drink water! Go to sleep! Bombadil is calling!” (sorry - inveterate fan here…)
Cool artwork and idea, Mark Tatulli!
Where’s Tom Bombadil when you need him?
I think that I shall never see, A poem as lovely as a tree.
Garey, I think he’s working traffic out on the Bree bypass. Too many Dwatves going much too fast.
