Luann by Greg Evans and Karen Evans for July 31, 2012
Transcript:
Crystal: "Do you actually think you'll be plucked out of high school and whisked off to superstardom?" Tiffany: "I got in the "Zeye" movie, didn't I?" Crystal: "That was a lucky fluke. Not exactly a solid career path" Tiffany: "But the whole "Learn your craft in school" thing takes too long. It's boring! It's hard!" Crystal: "You're so mature" Tiffany: "Exactly! What's the point of a glamorous life of stardom if I'm an old hag?"

Arrrgh! Impenetrable conceit. Woe! Woe! Beware, Tiffany Farrell! The Fates will bite your curvy behind, be it young or old!

She’s as thick; as a brick.

You’re still gonna be an old hag, one day! But will you have had a brilliant career lifetime to look back on?

Who’s getting old? I thought nobody gets old in this strip.

Hate to tell you this, Tiff, but eventually, all get old…..Unfortunately, most teenagers fail to realize that fact until they are in their late ’20s or early ’30s. I can recall some of my old high school crowd saying something like, “when I’m sixty years old, I’ll be exactly the same as I am right now!” It was 42 years ago that my high school class graduated— I can only wonder what some of those people are like today…

In tomorrow’s exciting episode, Tiff reveals that she lives her life by the teachings of “The Secret”……

Got news for you Tiff. Whether or not you achieve stardom, you will still achieve “old-hagdom”.

She’s sounding like the teenaged-girl version of Calvin in Calvin and Hoobes, but without the redeeming quality of imagination for its own sweet sake.

I knew this GREAT blonde who ran away and became a pole dancer for about ten years. She once told me she had “done” van Halen…she had straightened her life greatly and was being open with her friends.
Don’t let your kids go to LA. I’ve been to the bus stops and watched the hawks pounce. And carry them away to a ‘stardom-producing’ job…bastards.

“Hate to tell you this, Tiff, but eventually, all get old…..”
…actually, no, they don’t…but the alternative can be worse (ie “I hope I die before I get old”…)

Both Luann and Tiffany have friends who are considerably wiser than they are. You wonder how long Bernice and Crystal are going to stick around and watch their friends destroy themselves.

Tiff should play Bad Company’s " Shooting Star " over and over…she MIGHT get the message…but I doubt it !
And where are BRAD & TONI ??

eventually get old?yes, in real life…..but how long, how many years have these guys been in high school? Since no one really ages, like in most strips, these gals and guys will continue their high school antics for years to come and no wrinkles ,bad knees, wrenched backs or hip replacements will be looming on their horizon. Maybe for Greg, but not for them

Okaaaaaay! Time to drop the ditz and get back to Brad and Toni

Would love to see Greg do a few strips 50 years in the future, showing how everyone turned out. Life is funny – people like Tiffany can end up getting a clue, and the ones who seem to have it all together can end up with wasted lives.

Go for it Tiffany! The Kardashians are the perfect model to follow.

Hack attack! Tiffany points out that she actually did what Crystal suggested yesterday, so Crystal reverts to ridiculing Tiffany’s efforts. Because Tiffany must always be wrong, always be demeaned, consistency be damned. This strip is beginning to rot. From the head. Lookin’ at you, Evans.

I can totally see her next line being “I mean, if I do that I could be TWENTY by the time I star in my first movie!”
Of course, this is a girl who didn’t know what Washington DC was so predicting her lines isn’t exactly hard…

" eventually, all get old….."-Now THAT is a medical problem worth fixing. If they could do away with getting old, they would also eliminate all the diseases associated with old age.

Why hasn´t anyone said anything about doing commercials or adds? C´mon Bernice and Crystal, tighten up. Greg must really get a kick out of how serious some people take this.

She’s already a “hag” — all that’s left is to get old.

gosh, if 22 is an old hag (how old she’ll be when she gets out of college), then I must be the crypt keeper, at 28!

I agree with Tiffany. I’m glad I’m out of secondary school and will be going UWI next year
