I’m surprised Shannon is young enough for that to still work! Luann is a genius.

And this takes care of a coupla issues some of us were discussing, yesterday… ha ha!!

Now if Lu can just teach it to Tiff she might have something.

Oh, I am seeing the storyline of Tiffany battling to have Quill take her to Brad and Toni’s wedding…OR thinking that the wedding is for Luann and Quill.

Is it just me or does Shannon look a lot like Brad in this installment.

Shannon is my favorite character (as most of you know), and I like the way Greg is letting her true personality shine through, now that she feels like a part of a REAL family; I really hope Jonah does the old “Gone to live in another country” thing soon … and leaves Shannon with Brad & Toni, of course.

Note how much Shannon smiles these days, she almost never smiled when she was always with her “doesn’t give a crap” Dad!

I wonder if Shannon will remember that 4 or 5 years down the road when they have that wedding.^^I don’t think it will be any later than next April 1rst, and I think it will be later this year, maybe in the fall… for one thing, if it was really 5 years from now, everyone who reads the strip would be complaining that all they ever do is talk about it.

Sometimes under a seemingly rough stone, there is a true gem.^^:) What a nice saying, fits Shannon well; if I had kids, I’d be quite happy with a daughter like Shannon…. might pluck her eyebrows a bit though :P

Luann’s real talent seems to be for babysitting. At least she is making good progress in civilizing Shannon. And she is in that “touchy-feely” stage with Quill, so things are progressing there, too.Love is in the air….

Quill’s family must be very well off. Quill seems to be able to commute between Australia and the States fairly much when he wants. Go to some travel site and price a round trip flight from Australia.

I just want to say how much I enjoy reading all the comments on this strip! By far the best comment section of the comics I read every day. Thanks for letting me in the mix occasionally!

In the olden days of yore, if a teenaged boy wanted to be included in a wedding invitation, it was a sign there was something wrong with him. Maybe next Quill will offer to throw Toni a bridal shower.______

Q is looking for any opportunity he can get for some of that sweet, sweet Luann.

Tiff wouldn’t be fun if she were silent (and even for Shannon it is best used for special moments -like the vows). Greg’s dialog for the troublemakers in the crowd are what keep things moving. It WILL be fun to see that Tiff does NOT get Quill for the wedding ceremony. I hope Greg makes it a multi-day event.

“have another body on her side of the asile?”^Seems possible… two ways it could go: That his family is for real, and now so is he, and just like he said as he rode off on the garbage truck in what was then the sunset… “I’m done with this”… of course, if he still has feelings of not wanting anything to do with her, it could more damage than good, if he rejected her invite….unless she could take it in stride…==The other possibility: No one would feel at ease with him there, even if he’s no longer a threat, or even if they don’t view him as a threat, there’s still bad blood…… and only time can repair it and truly “get that hatchet buried”…. that’s the question, I guess…. would it be time? And how much time?…. that may lend itself to your 5 year theory, as more healing and moving on can get done….

I’m still afraid some tragic accident is going to happen before the wedding, and either Brad or Toni will be seriously injured. One of them will have to be wheeled into the wedding. But enough of that— let the sweetness roll now!*Figured out why Nancy is so smitten with Quill— Quill is today’s version of the young Frank. Back in h.s. Frank was quiet, had a dry sense of humor, and was a wannabe rock star— just like Quill is today. The old saying is that boys want to marry girls like their mom; is the reverse true, that girls want to marry boys like their dads?

More likely than having Dirk to the weddiing to fill up “the brides side”, people will all be seated together. Haven’t been to one where the “sides” were kept separate since I was a kid. Excluding, of course, “Prince Valiant” where the incredibly cool woman warrior invited her wolf pack to sit on “her side”.

let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves folks! we still have Drama Camp to get thru, and whatever mischief Tiff is planning for that.

Yes, I am dying to know why Luann didn’t get into drama camp! It was so upsetting and if I were her mom I would have done some investigating myself.

You have a very cynical viewpoint. And unwarranted too I might add. Toni rejected Brad’s proposal because she wasn’t ready, not because it was Brad proposing. She rejected the engagement ring because she is practical. If she did want to invite Dirk, I’m sure she would only do so if Brad was okay with it. Who knows, maybe Brad and Dirk could be friends. This seems to me to so far be a relationship based on mutual respect which is how it should be for everyone, but unfortunately is not. Only someone engaged in pointless power struggles themselves would think in such a disparaging way.

I think if the Firefighters from both Toni’s and from Brad’s stations come out, there ain’t going to be any room in the church for thugs.^^I don’t think the wedding will be in church, it will either be an outdoor wedding with a large honour guard of Firefighters , or, possibly a small civilian ceremony, at the fire station itself

Actually, Brad has become quite a bit stronger with TJ than he used to be. When they were kids he would have let TJ talk him into quitting his firefighter training when TJ got bored with it, and he certainly would have wound up being dragged along on the stupid Weenie World revenge nonsense, and probably gotten arrested for it. Fixing the truck was a legitimate favor that Brad only pretended to mind. If Toni ends up running the household it will be because that is similar to the family dynamic he grew up with. Mom ran the family because she was better at it, not because she bullied Dad out of the way.

He could, but it would still be like running two entirely separate comic strips. It is a bad idea.

Touché. I should have left that last comment off and I apologize for insulting you. I am guilty of engaging in many pointless power struggles myself; however, I am just not as cynical as you are.

I stand by my other comments. I just don’t see Toni’s proposal as being a humiliation. Dirk is a changed man, and he is no longer a threat to Brad. Toni saw how happy he is and wants that for herself with the man she loves.

As far as the ring is concerned and please correct me if I’m wrong, my recollection is that Brad never actually came out and said he resented the situation, I thought it was sort of left up in the air. He should be ecstatic to have such a practical, down-to-earth woman, whose beauty on the outside seems to match her inner beauty.

A short sojourn would be fun. The permanent removal of the title character across the globe would kill it.
