It’s August already. Just stay the rest of the summer and save the air fare.

Are we sure it’s August in Luann time?

More to the point, good man, Quill. Coming up with a plan to stay part of the script without needing a damn computer/phone.

He seems quite confident that he will be given a visa, for no good reason. And maybe his family has other ideas? After all, what if Luann just told Frank and Nancy, “I’m going to Australia for a year to be with Quill,” would they just say “Sure, whatever.”?

The second semester of the academic year in Australia (following the winter break) began on Monday, July 29, and it runs through Friday, November 21. For Quill to begin his senior year in Pitt in September, he would have to skip the second half of his junior year back home. That may not even be possible, and even if it is, it certainly seems unwise.

Is this a hint that Luann is going to be a senior this year?

All we know for sure is that it would be Quill’s senior year. Who knows how long Luann’s going to be a junior. This will be Quill’s second year as a senior (he was in his senior year when at Pitts the first time), maybe his third, if he did a senior year in Oz as well.

Quill didn’t really mean he’d live with Luann and her family…he’d simply attend school at the same time as her. I doubt that his parents would allow this unless….they are busy with their own lives and barely watch out for him.

Luann’s not thinking with her head at the moment. If Quill’s in the picture on a daily basis, she may not focus on her schoolwork and possibly fail her senior year.

Yeah, and Tiff will be going crazy, hearing and seeing those two in stereo, on top of everything else, for the whole year… so, I guess that there’s a silver lining for him in that…==Then, too, will she really care? If she’s plotting and scheming further, she’d need to “divide and conquer”… and that hasn’t worked out so well… wonder if some new “plot device” would up the stakes, or at least give a new wrinkle to Tiffany vs. Luann?…==

In case anyone’s forgotten (or missed it altogether) Luann’s folks already nixed the idea of Quill staying with them.

And just how will Quill pay for room and board for this senior year of high school? It’s like paying for an extra year of college, minus the tuition. Will he follow Luann’s lead and just run up a bill on “Masterdad”? I’m sure his family must think that sending him off to the USA just so that he can be with Luann instead of being with them is a splendid idea…

Whoa there, young lady! It’s just an idea that Quill is floating. Lots of different approvals and logistical arrangements will have to come together before it can become a reality and you two also can come together….

Hmmmm… Well…. something new may be added… perhaps a bit of “senior fireworks” before they all head off to college, or wherever.

I think the “end game” resolution of all of this depends on how strongly one believes that Lu and Gunther were meant to be, and all of this activity being “prequel drama” leading Lu towards that eventual epiphany. Deep down, I’d like to believe that Lu and Gunther are soul mates that just don’t realize it yet (more so Lu… I also think, deep down, that Gunth has realized it all along). If (how many Lu years from now) Rosa and Gunth are still together, we’ll pretty much know. Might take Lu a few more tries to get it right.

But at this point, if Q turns out to be “the one,” I’d be a bit shocked. It’s just going waaaaayyy to easy for her.

Quill should stay with Gunther. It would do a world of good for Gunther, and they seem to like each other just fine.

God (Greg) changed his mind about which grade Quill was in last year and tweaked reality.

If Aaron Hill showed up now that would make things very interesting.

Luann probably invited anyone and everyone who would like to be there. Crystal is a part of this group so it’s only logical for her to be there even though she’s not especially close to Quill.

It would only be too eager if they weren’t already a couple.

It isn’t as if Quill’s parents would be sending him as an exchange student for the usual reasons of learning about a foreign country and studying in a new environment – Quill has already lived in the USA recently and gone to school in Pitt. He would be coming just to be with his girlfriend. His parents (and the INS) might consider that inadequate – or improper – justification to allow him to attend his senior year of high school in the USA.

Knute’s folks sponsor exchange students—perhaps Quill would be able to stay with them.

It would be hard to justify that he’s here for career opportunities, as a high school senior. They have plenty of avenues to work as an actor in Australia.

Anyway, isn’t it about time for Rosa’s Dad to get transferred to another country? (When she was introduced into the strip it was made clear that Rosa has lived all over the world, and she’s here only temporarily.) When the author’s avatar is then once again unattached, will he resume his pining for the strip’s Mary Sue?

What makes Tiffany the way she is? How about just the fact that she is an ambitious, dedicated aspiring actress who is willing to work hard, take small jobs, learn her craft, and become a working professional? Yeah, actually aiming at a goal and striving to accomplish it does sound like the sort of behavior that needs some deep and dark psychological trouble to explain it, within the context of the usual slackers in this strip, but maybe that’s just the way she is.

So if he doesn’t get a Visa all he need do is cross the border from Mexico and he will be home free.

I’ve been saying it. One more year folks and that’s it. Greg is retiring soon. He’s been building up to this for a while and doing a great job of it. They are finally hitting their senior year. Then off to college and everyone goes their own way.

Good for you, Luann. You deserve a nice guy in your life.

Easy there girl, and by that, I mean quit being so damn easy

The ‘junior’ high school was grades 7 – 9 ^Yeah, and that’s the other aspect of it… seemed simpler to just say Jr. and Sr. High, but now it’s all convoluted… ha ha…

Oh, yeah, while I’m remembering it… If you are familiar with Hank Hooper, or even if not, he puts something called “Robot Playhouse Theater” on YouTube, and he uses “the Robot”… it’s pretty funny, and they do parodies of Shakespeare Plays and Mark Twain… the “Tom Sawyer” one is funny , as are the rest… and there’s a mashup of sorts with “Lost in Space”, to the song “The Robots” by Kraftwerk, complete with “Penny Robinson”, Dr. Smith, and “the Robot” featured in it….

Also forgot to clarify: The second thing is not a “Hank Hooper”, but is a separate thing, a Mashup of “The Robots” put to a clip of “Lost in Space”… separately interesting from the “RPT” thing!

Wow — how refreshing that Luann could actually have a boyfriend in her own school for a change. Sounds nice to me.
