Wow! Lu and Bern met with Greg and Karen… I guess their experience being there in comic form left them both a little,uh….. flat ….

Methinks it’s a self-portrait of the cartoonist and his wife or daughter.

I can’t say I expected that.

Nor had to get the bus… but they did get to use the bathroom at that bus station, so their trip wasn’t a total washout…

Obviously the birthday story arc is finished. Now, what will tomorrow bring?

It took me five minutes to figure out that was Greg and Karen lol…that’s awesome

Actually, the fare seems to have gotten healthier.. for instance, Luann’s got a lettuce burger (where’s the beef?) and Bern looks like she has a “salady-like substitute”…. – Maybe they had to change it to “drown out” what used to be the mobile health food truck….

Well I be darn, Greg Evans and hie wife I think

Greg and his DAUGHTER….Karen …. who, at 5, was the inspiration for Luann….and is now co-writing the strip (but not doing any of the artwork.)

This was taken almost exactly one year ago, when Greg was 65 and Karen was 34.

I’d call that “pulling a Pastis” – but with much more class, of course!

Wow, Luann; if only you knew who they were, and their relation to you and Bernice! How nice to see Greg and Karen visit in the strip! I didn’t know they patronized Weenie World, too!

Fun! And it is nice to be back to the modern drawings!

I hope this doesn’t mean the end of the strip:(

Greg looks really good for being almost 67…but wait, Luann’s really a lot older, too.

Greg drew himself to look like “The Hef”!! Where’s his smoking jacket and pipe???

We didn’t know who they were. We guessed Brangelina !!!!

Genius! Absolute Genius! It’s like us and God, except she can actually look at her creator. AWESOME.

For those who haven’t seen it, yet, this is from a Luann Q&A seiminar during the “Reuben Comic Awards” time from a few months back, this year…. – As Scott Stevenson mentioned, This shows not only Greg and Karen, but also his wife (all in person) and also pics of some family… you can look at it and today’s strip, and see all the “uncanny” resemblances! –

Greg marinated in Grectian Formula before this appearance.

That would be interesting. I would hope that she is ready. Says the guy who’s been voting since 1972, when 18 year olds were able to vote.

Comic strips are wonderful. Not only can you travel back in time in comic strips (archives), but 29 years can actually be 18 years. Neat!

Nice fan tribute

I suppose this has been said a million times (however, I am just coming in) , but it is easy to see that the guy is Greg and the gal his daughter. Nice!!! ;)

Nothing feels weirder than a first-time “empty nester”…but, take heart!, you still have your daughter for the next 8 (?) years! ;)

Tomorrow’s (or rather today’s) comic is already posted on the ArcaMax site, in black and white…

It also reminds me of why parents always want to hear from us, and what we’ll also be saying….

Don’t they, though?! BTW, my and my hub’s anniversary is November 30th… ;)

This really is one for the fans. No one among the general readers would recognise Greg and Karen. In fact, although I have seen photos of Greg before, even I was just guessing (with confidence, from the context) that it was Karen. I love it!
